Emergence@Physique 2026 calls for project results
CNRS Physics supports research teams in its laboratories by backing the development of their research projects through two specific calls for projects: Émergence and Tremplin. Discover the 12 winning projects selected under the Emergence@Physique 2026 call for projects.
The Émergence@Physique call for projects supports physicists who were recruited between three and five years ago, helping them develop a new research project in which they play the leading role. In 2026, this support took two forms:
- Equipment Stream: CNRS Physics is supporting three projects with grants of up to €60,000 to purchase, co-fund, or upgrade a specific piece of equipment (or contribute to its acquisition). Shared use of equipment and the development of original instrumentation within the host laboratory are strongly encouraged.
- Recruitment Stream: The precautionary measures introduced under the first amended budget prevented the implementation of the originally planned 12-month research contract. Nevertheless, CNRS Physics is maintaining its support for nine projects through grants of up to €15,000.
In addition, the Émergence@Physique call offers a €30,000 mobility grant (to cover travel and subsistence expenses) to support a sabbatical stay of at least six months abroad, as part of a scientific project carried out in collaboration with the recipient's French host laboratory. This form of support was not requested in 2026.
The success rate for the Émergence@Physique call for projects in 2026 was 86%.
