Ultrafast spectroscopy reveals the mechanism of light-induced phase transition

A joint research team, in the framework of the International Research Laboratory DYNACOM, has discovered by femtosecond laser ultrafast spectroscopy that in a photoinduced phase transition material where charge transfer and spin transition coexist, charge transfer occurs first, followed by spin transition upon light irradiation.
