Superfluorescence in perovskites
An international team has analysed how the quantum phenomenon of superfluorescence appears in perovskite materials. Superfluorescence is the spontaneous emission of light by a material that has been illuminated. However, it remains difficult to observe, as the quantum effects that make it possible (in particular, entanglement) are highly sensitive to all external perturbations and rapidly disappear. The researchers have demonstrated that hybrid perovskites, because of their unique properties, allow this phenomenon to manifest itself, opening the way to potential applications in quantum computing and quantum optics.
