Quantum metrology: a sensor network to surpass the standard limit

Precision sensors are limited by quantum noise related to the fact that a finite number of particles are being measured. By using entanglement between several atomic Bose-Einstein condensates, researchers have shown that it is possible to enhance measurement precision, even when estimating several quantities at the same time.
