Astronomers witness the birth of a new solar system thanks to the JWST and ALMA telescopes

Résultat scientifique

An international team of researchers have detected the signatures of gas and minerals in a protoplanetary disc, tracing the first stages of the evolutionary process of interstellar solids that could lead to the formation of a new planetary system.

The present research was conducted in the following CNRS laboratories :

  • Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d'Orsay (ISMO, CNRS/Université Paris-Saclay)
  • Physique des Interactions Ioniques et Moléculaires (PIIM, Aix Marseille université/CNRS)
